Critical Controls Framework and Safety Guidelines

Safety is consistently front of mind for our clients.

To this end, CutlerMerz has recently adapted a Critical Control Management framework from the mining industry and applied it in the energy networks setting with the objective of continually improving safety risk management.

Our support included:

  • Developing a critical controls framework that aligned with best practice and appropriate standards

  • Producing a quantifiable justification (based on ISO 31000 / 31010 techniques) for performing network tasks and activities with certain controls in place

  • Developing and updating policies, guidelines, systems and tools that support risk management and risk reduction, including demonstrating compliance to safety regulations, minimising risk to SFAIRP, conducting risk assessment and analysis, and outlining Critical Control Management processes

  • Facilitating a series of workshops to discuss the updated processes and guidelines

Our work has allowed our client to align their policies, systems and documents to best practice, improve their overall business operations, and demonstrate to the safety regulator that risk is being suitably managed.
