ARENA Demand Response and Virtual Power Plant portfolio evaluation

CutlerMerz was engaged by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) to undertake an evaluation of the appropriateness, effectiveness and efficiency of ARENA’s demand response (DR) and virtual power plant (VPP) trial projects.

CutlerMerz’s review included facilitating a series of interviews with the stakeholders involved in delivering the projects and other relevant stakeholders; developing an evaluation framework for the assessment; highlighting the key lessons learned for scoping and managing a portfolio of trial projects against the evaluation framework and delivering knowledge sharing; and performing modelling of costs and benefits associated with the ARENA portfolio of projects.

Earlier this month, ARENA released CutlerMerz’ final evaluation reports for the DR and VPP portfolio of projects. These are available here and here respectively.
