Grid connected batteries are becoming a key feature of the renewable energy transition. While benefits include their potential to contribute to energy system security, reliability, and affordability; drawbacks relate to nascent commercial parameters and regulatory settings.
We have supported retailers, developers, networks, and other key stakeholders traverse through a range of issues to support their assessment of grid connected batteries. This includes:
providing regulatory advice on applying regulatory investment tests and ring-fencing guidelines
designing end-to-end development pathways inclusive of planning, design, construction, commissioning, and verification
assessing and optimising value streams against sizing and operating models
We’re looking forward to further work in this space to clarify the role that grid connected batteries play in the broader energy system.
